almost a year out
Hello everyone, I had my surgery in Nov 2008 and i'm still flippin and flopping the same 42 lbs. I have 6.5ccs in my band, no i'm not restricted yet. I've been working out since Feb. of 2009. I get all my protein in and I eat around 800 to 1000 calories a day. I don't drink soda or juice. If i do drink something it's a vitamin water, but for the most part i drink water almost a gallon a day. Is anyone else moving at this slow pace. I would just like to know that i'm not alone. Thanks so much.
I had my surgery on Feb 11, 2009, I have lost 41lbs. I keep gaining and loosing the same 4-6lbs. then suddenly it wiill fall off, then the cycle starts again. It is very frustrating. I drink my water and eat well. When i get a fill it takes me nearly a month to get to "normal". I guess I need to increase my exercise, but I tell you lately I am so tired. We are working 6day weeks, have been for nearly 3 months and on my only day off so much work at home to do.
I know you will continue to loose the weight you desire to loose.. Stay strong and true to yourself..

I feel like I am loosing at the same slow pace. I had surgery on 3/16/09 and since then am down a total of 36 lbs. I don't remember how much I have in my fill but I think it's my sweet spot. My friend who also got the band on the same day is around the same pace so I don't feel bad. I guess this is just how the band works.. I will take any type of weightloss cause I would have still been the same 30 something lbs fatter if I didnt' do this. But your not alone..
Hi Clovett,
Everyone loses weight at different paces. From what you describe, it sounds like you are doing everything right - just make sure that you are truly being accurate with your calorie tracking. 42 lbs is great considering you don't have restriction yet. I believe in going really slow with restriction because this tool is meant to last a lifetime, but that means that the rest is up to us and that it really, really hard to do sometimes.
I have decided to go back for a fill because my band allows me to eat way too much right now and, for some reason, I have no willpower lately to control it myself. In other words, I can't keep between the 800 - 1000 calories as you have done.
I wish I could say that things are easier once you get to goal, but it's just more of the same . . . hard work!
